For too long, I was doing everything “right” - or so I thought. But my energy kept crashing, my mood swings were affecting how I showed up for my kids, and I kept gaining weight no matter what I tried.

Perimenopause doesn’t care about your old strategies. And the internet’s conflicting advice wasn’t helping.

So I figured it out. Not just for me… but for my kids. Because I refuse to teach them that feeling exhausted and out of control in your 40s is just “normal.”

Why Real Food Made Easy exists

Real Food Made Easy started because my body was changing in ways I didn’t understand… and I was terrified of where it was heading.

I was gaining weight even though I was “trying to be healthy.” My energy would crash in the afternoon. My mood swings were affecting how I showed up for my kids. And I kept thinking: Is this just what perimenopause is? Is this inevitable?

But the scarier question was: What am I teaching my kids right now?

That feeling exhausted is normal? That our bodies just… fail us? That chronic disease is something that happens TO us, not something we have any control over?

I couldn’t accept that.

So I stopped collecting more tips and started simplifying. I started paying attention to ingredients, to what actually satisfied me, to what made my energy steadier and my cravings quieter.

And the more I simplified, the easier it got to follow through.

Now? I’m not just figuring this out for me. I’m figuring it out for my kids. Because I don’t want them growing up thinking that feeling like crap in your 40s is just… normal.

 

What I believe about food in perimenopause

  • If its complicated, you don't do it
  • "Healthy" isn't a label on the front of the package
  • You don't need more rules, you need better default choices and a framework that makes it easy
  • What we eat today shapes our health tomorrow - and what our kids learn about food shapes their entire lives

  • a plan for the weeks that go sideways so you don’t disappear for three weeks
